Our early childhood students are an important part of the St. Vincent de Paul School community. They visit the church, participate in school events, and experience a strong sense of belonging from their very first days. For many children, Faithful Beginnings is their first school experience, and we believe it should be a joyful and positive one. We work closely with families to build strong relationships and create a sense of community that extends beyond the classroom.
Faithful Beginnings serves fully toilet-trained children ages 3–5 in both preschool and pre-kindergarten classrooms. We are licensed by the Minnesota Department of Children, Youth, and Families and accredited by the Minnesota Nonpublic School Accrediting Association (MNSAA).
Learning is rooted in play and exploration, with opportunities for social, emotional, and academic development through fine and gross motor activities, large and small group instruction, and hands-on discovery. Children also participate in Catechesis of the Good Shepherd, a beautiful, age-appropriate introduction to our Catholic faith.
Families of all backgrounds are welcome in our program.

Faithful Beginnings at St. Vincent de Paul, offers a developmental, child centered program that focuses on the social-emotional, physical, creative and cognitive needs of young children. We believe that children learn best in a positive play-based environment in which they are allowed to explore and learn at their own pace.
In our classrooms, the children freely explore the various stations including art, blocks, creative play, fine motor activities, and reading. Large and small group activities feature stories, games, and songs that reinforce specific concepts. The role of the teacher is to facilitate learning through teachable moments and group activities. Children are introduced to the basics of the Catholic faith as part of daily activities.
The Schulze Family Foundation has created the Schulze Early Learning Scholarship Program to assist middle-income families in gaining access to excellent preschool programs for their children. Click here for more information.
