Who is your favorite Saint and why? Saint Teresa of Calcutta is my favorite saint because she truly saw the face of Jesus in everyone, especially vulnerable children. She proved you don't have to do extraordinary things to change the world; you just have to love and care for the people in your community and start with your own family. My favorite quote of hers is, "Wash the plate not because it is dirty, nor because you are told to wash it, but because you love the person who will use it next."
Why do you like working in a Catholic school? I love working in a Catholic school because I get to share my faith with our students, my coworkers, and our families every day. I love that faith is just a natural part of what we do. We pray together, celebrate together, and talk about God in the little moments throughout the day. It is such a blessing to watch our students grow in their faith not only through what we teach them, but through the way we live our faith each day.
What is your favorite activity outside of work? Outside of work, I love spending time with my family and friends, especially when we can be outside. I enjoy reading, hiking, biking, going for walks, and spending time on the water - a beach, a lake; they are all my happy places!
What is your favorite children’s book? Room on the Broom by Julia Donaldson, The Candy Witch by Steven Kroll, and If I Built a House by Chris Van Dusen
What is your favorite snack and beverage combo? Plantain chips & water - or an Alani or Chips and Salsa
What is your favorite SVDP tradition? I love the traditions that bring our school community together. Whether it’s gathering for weekly Mass, celebrating Advent, or coming together for one of our family events, I love seeing our students, families, teachers, and parish community all connected. Those are the moments that make St. Vincent de Paul feel like so much more than a school.
When did you start working at St. Vincent de Paul? I started working at St. Vincent's in August of 2020.
