Who is your favorite Saint and why? St. John Bosco is my favorite saint because of his love for children and the example he gives that they should all be guided with patience, love, and joy. He shows us to see each child as a precious gift from God and that the little things we do can have a lasting impact on a child's life! I also have to give a shout-out to St. Anthony for helping me find all of the lost things!
Why do you like working in a Catholic school? First of all, being Catholic is AWESOME, and getting to teach the love of Jesus to children is an absolute blessing! I love being able to share my faith with my students and help them grow in their love for Jesus. I love being able to stop as a class and say a prayer for first responders and the people who need them when we hear sirens outside. It is such a beautiful thing to be able to bring our faith into everything we do, and that even our littlest prayers can make a difference.
What is your favorite activity outside of work? I love spending time with my family--mostly it entails watching hockey or hanging out at the lake!
What is your favorite children’s book? All of them! I absolutely love children's books. I do have to say--I enjoy reading The Very Impatient Caterpillar by Ross Burach (and the rest of the series) out loud to the children the most!
What is your favorite snack and beverage combo? I love pickles, Chomps beef and turkey sticks, and grape Olipop or peach Bubbl'r
What is your favorite SVDP tradition? I love when the 8th graders go through the hall at the end of the year giving everyone a high five, and then I love when the high school graduates come back to do the same thing! SVDP is a special place, and once a Royal, always a Royal!
When did you start working at St. Vincent de Paul? My first year at St. Vincent’s was in 2017, when I covered a 12-week maternity leave in preschool. I was so excited to return the following year to teach the Tuesday/Thursday preschool class!
Please list your educational background & degrees I have a degree in Child Psychology with an emphasis in Early Childhood from the University of Minnesota!
